Homeschooled students are invited to join us on the Mountain monthly for experiential learning! Topics will focus on phenology of the Appalachian forest ecosystem. Programs are designed for K-12 students and are filled with hands-on learning activities both inside and outdoors.
November 17: Animal Behavior - SOLD OUT
Ethology! Join us on Hawk Mountain while we talk about what animal behavior is all about! In this section we will discuss what animal’s might be thinking, how different behaviors help them in the wild, and of course animal training!
December 15: Winter Solstice
Where is the daylight going? Explore the reasons behind why the days get shorter and what this means for the natural world! Discover how animals and plants react to the loss of sunlight and how they survive through the cold winter nights.
Social distancing required at all times. Masks are recommended, regardless of vaccination status, when indoors or in populated areas.
