Homeschooled students are invited to join us on the Mountain monthly for experiential learning! Topics will focus on phenology of the Appalachian forest ecosystem. Programs are designed for K-12 students and are filled with hands-on learning activities both inside and outdoors.

January 25: Animal Adaptations
Ever wonder why animals are built how they are? Find out this month with us at Hawk Mountain and learn about the fascinating adaptations animals have!

February 15: Sensory Safari
Which sense do you use the most? Learn how animals utilize their well-adapted senses to help them in the wild!

March 15: Day vs. Night
Join us on Hawk Mountain as we discover the different techniques that both daytime and nighttime critters have developed to help them survive and thrive at their preferred times of activity.

April 19: Earth Day Activities
Join Hawk Mountain for a fun and fact-filled program that celebrates our one precious planet. Learn how to calculate and reduce your ecological footprint and take the EARTH DAY EVERYDAY pledge with us while saluting our planet.

May 17: Wetlands
Get ready to get WILD about Wetlands and learn to identify native wildlife that live in these biological supermarkets. Find out how wetlands serve as a vital role between land and water! This program includes a short trip down to the Schuylkill River for a stream survey, plan to get wet! Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the river access point.

September 20: Magnificent Migration
Have you wondered where certain animals go for the winter and want to know more about identification, data collection, and population status? Join us and learn to demystify the magic of raptor migration and much more!

October 18: Awesome Owls
Learn all about the raptors of the night with this lesson! It’s all about our owl friends and how they survive and thrive in the wild!

November 15: Treasure All Vultures
Join us to celebrate the original recyclers of the raptor world and find out why these birds are declining in parts of the world and how we can conserve and treasure through an interactive game, test your vulture knowledge.

December 20: Arctic Animals
Put on your warmest thinking cap and join us for a “chill” learning experience all about animals in the arctic, including the sensational Snowy Owl ecology and behind the blind updates on Project Snowstorm!

$20, $15 for Members.
Price covers 1 parent and 1 child. $10 per additional child.
