Despite the fact that Turkey Vultures dine on carrion and sport unattractive, featherless heads, take a closer look at the behavior and ecology of these essential birds and discover their true beauty. In this FREE virtual program, Dr. Dan Varland will share results of a collaborative study with Hawk Mountain Sanctuary on the patterns of migration, site fidelity, and roost sites of Turkey Vultures captured and fitted with GPS transmitters and/or wing-tags for monitoring in coastal Washington.
This virtual program is part of our Stay at Home Speaker Series, targeted towards adults and interested learners, but of course attendees of all ages and backgrounds are welcomed!
