ABOUT ABOUT

in this FREE virtual program, learn all about biodiversity early warning systems, which are citizen-science fueled, public policy and science-driven data systems that work pretty much like early warning systems for tsunamis, disease outbreaks, or stock market crashes.

When working in southern Africa, Phoebe Barnard led the development of integrated systems in that region for biodiversity, including taxa on land, in oceans and freshwater, and gathering data on populations, range changes and phenology changes to life cycles.  Returning to the USA in 2017, she has brought the concept, the term, and the ideas for audiences and stakeholders in the Cascadia region of the USA and Canada to adopt.

Phoebe will run the audience through the fun, the rigor, and the promise of tracking species in space and time with citizen science.

This virtual program is part of our Stay at Home Speaker Series, targeted towards adults and interested learners, but of course attendees of all ages and backgrounds are welcomed!

A private link to the webinar will be emailed to all registrants about 1 hour before the start of the live program. A recording of the webinar will be posted and shared to all registrants following the event.
