ABOUT ABOUT

Zeiss Sport Optics and Rockjumper Worldwide Birding Adventures are proud to offer a day-trip up to one of the nation's most famous birding locations and one of the top hawk-watching spots in the world. Storied Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is the world's first refuge for birds of prey. Founded in 1934 by the incomparable Rosalie Edge, today it serves as a model for raptor research and education across the globe.

For our trip, the date falls squarely within the peak of Broad-winged Hawk migration. These incredible raptors breed across much of the U.S. and Canada and then winter in Central and South America, undertaking a remarkable journey twice a year. We'll hope to catch them as they move south back to the tropics, and should enjoy nice sightings of other raptors engaged in migration including Bald Eagle, Cooper's Hawk, Sharp-shinned Hawk, and Northern Harrier. The view from the lookouts up on Hawk Mountain are indeed something to behold and shall hold still other birds as well.

Join us for a fun-filled day at one of the United States's best known bird-watching sites, learn about hawk migration, and enjoy the sights, sounds, and other birds, with friends of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Rockjumper & Zeiss.
