ABOUT ABOUT

In this FREE virtual program, join former Hawk Mountain Trainee Muzi Sibiya to discover his graduate work on understanding long-term vertebrate community change modulated by a widespread increase in woody vegetation. He is a Ph.D. student in the School of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Florida and is originally from Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland).

Bush encroachment is spreading rapidly in six of the 14 terrestrial biomes across the globe with poorly understood consequences on biodiversity and to facilitate conservation, we urgently need to characterize its effects. Muzi focuses on bird communities and how a rapidly changing habitat is impacting bird diversity, occurrence, and local colonization or extinction rates.

This virtual program is part of our Stay at Home Speaker Series, targeted towards adults and interested learners, but of course attendees of all ages and backgrounds are welcomed!

A private link to the webinar will be emailed to all registrants about 1 hour before the start of the live program. A recording of the webinar will be posted and shared to all registrants following the event.
