ABOUT ABOUT

In this virtual program, Tomas Rivas Fuenzalida will talk about the work that he and his team have developed over the last few years to learn more about some of the most iconic and unknown forest raptors in South America. These species include the rufous-tailed hawk (Buteo ventralis), the white-throated hawk (Buteo albigula), the Chilean hawk (Accipiter chilensis), the black-and-chestnut eagle (Spizaetus isidori), the black-and-white hawk-eagle (Spizaetus melanoleucus), and orange-breasted falcon (Falco deiroleucus). Tomas will share progress regarding topics such as distribution, abundance, reproductive habitat and identification of threats, and their new studies of diet, movements and topics such as the resolution of human-raptor conflict.

This FREE virtual program is part of our Stay at Home Speaker Series, targeted towards adults and interested learners, but of course attendees of all ages and backgrounds are welcomed!
