Homeschooled students are invited to join us on the Mountain monthly for experiential learning! Topics will focus on phenology of the Appalachian forest ecosystem. Programs are designed for K-12 students and are filled with hands-on learning activities both inside and outdoors.
This month's theme Arctic Animals is adapting to the new covid restrictions!
Dec 16 Schedule:
9-9:30 AM: Virtual Arctic Animal Adventure Zoom meeting with Educator Rebecca Lesko
1-2:30 PM: Hike to the Highest (& coldest place) at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary—North Lookout. Along the way conduct scientific experiments!
If travel isn’t safe the virtual program will be extended. The format decision will be decided on Tuesday by 5 pm and participants will be notified at that time.
Parents are not required to stay for the duration of the program.
This event takes place every third Wednesday of the month!
$15.00, Price covers 1 parent and 1 child. $5 per additional child.
