Homeschooled students are invited to join us on the Mountain monthly for experiential learning! Topics will focus on phenology of the Appalachian forest ecosystem. Programs are designed for K-12 students and are filled with hands-on learning activities both inside and outdoors. Ticket price covers trail fees.

January 17: Nocturnal Animals
Let’s turn out the lights! This month we’ll look into the different adaptations that the creatures of the night utilize to make the most of the night.

February 21: Vet Science
THIS DATE HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Interested in animal medicine? This is the month for you! This month we learn about the many different routes you can take for Veterinary Sciences! Plus, you get to help with mock vet exams on live animals!

March 20: Earthquakes!
THIS DATE HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Join us on Hawk Mountain as we discover why the earth is shaking this month! It’s all about how the earth is constructed and how we live on an everchanging planet!

April 17: Ethology!
Join Hawk Mountain to learn about why animals behave the way they do and how we study their behaviors!

May 15: Pollinators!
Get ready to learn about why the mountain is buzzing this month! Take a stroll through our Native Habitat Garden and meet some of the wonderful invertebrates that pollinate the mountain!

September 18: Hawks and Falcons and Vultures, Oh My!
Join us as we make our way up to the summit of Hawk Mountain and watch our migrating raptors make their way all the way down to South America!

October 16: Incredible Invertebrates
This month we take a break from looking to the skies and look to the ground! Explore all kinds of wonderful creepy crawlies and how they help make our planet a better place.

November 20: Biomimicry
Ever wonder where we got some of our best ideas that make our lives easier? Most tools we use came from nature! Explore the fascinating world of biomimicry with Hawk Mountain!

December 18: Nesting Now!
Put on your warmest thinking cap and join us for to see whoooo is still in our state and starting their nesting process!

$20, $15 for Members.
Price covers 1 parent and 1 child. $10 per additional child.
