This two part event will cover the traditional ancestral skills of brain tan buckskin and friction fire. We will begin with a discussion of hair off, wet scrape buckskin techniques that will turn your raw deerskin into soft, durable buckskin. This presentation is open to all and will conclude with a live raptor encounter.
Following the presentation will be a small class workshop focused on hand drill and bow drill friction fire methods. We will cover tips and tricks to help you find success with this challenging skill. Participants will get hands-on instruction and work to make fire.
