Local author and adventurer Cindy Ross will trace her connection to the mountain, beginning with hiking the Appalachian Trail and how she came to live in the shadow of the mountain, ran a hostel in Eckville for long distance hikers, went on to build a log home from scratch on the other side of the mountain, used the Sanctuary and the surrounding wild lands to raise and teach her children, as well as help veterans whom have experienced trauma, through her non-profit, River House PA.
Cindy's husband Todd Gladfelter, who carved the magnificent pillars at the Sanctuary's new amphitheater, will also share his path in life that brought him to Hawk Mountain. Discover how this inspiring couple manifested their passions of hiking and the love of wood into a livelihood of a professional writer and chainsaw carver, and how they were able to use these experiences to help others.
