Hawk Mountain has partnered with the Kempton Fire Company to offer this wilderness medical field course that will cover several topics including:
- Suspension trauma created from elevated platforms
- Water filtration and purification
- Splinting and stabilization in the backcountry
- Toxicology, toxic plants and reptiles indigenous to Eastern PA
- Nutrition and Day Packs for extended rescues
- Patient packaging in the austere environment
CEU's available for all EMS provider levels
There is no indoor classroom/meeting space for this course. All education break out sessions will take place in various locations throughout the Sanctuary with instructors who are advanced medical providers with experience in the wilderness setting.
Please dress appropriately for the outdoors. Lunch will be provided.
